Pupil One to Ones

Sometimes a child or young person can benefit from some additional one to one support and guidance.

Where Schools or Parents have concerns as to a child’s understanding or interpretation of things around them, they can be referred to us for an individual One to One sessions. This can be due to a whole range of circumstances; it could be something the child has seen or heard in real life, on TV or online which they don’t fully understand. This may manifest itself in inappropriate sexualised behaviour or language being used in school or elsewhere. We are able to ensure the child receives the correct age and ability appropriate information in a gentle and calm way, so that they can continue to relate to their peers in a way that is socially acceptable.

We initially recommend 2 x 60 minute sessions (plus sometime with the Parent(s) or Carer(s) if the child is at Primary School). In 90% of cases this is sufficient to get the child back on track. If the issues are deeper rooted, we will discuss a future plan at this stage.

We always recommend early intervention, where an issue is ignored or shelved it tends to compound over time.

Four One to One sessions are included as part of our Enhanced Growing Up Safe : Whole School Approach programme. But One to One lessons can be booked on an individual basis at any time, by parents, schools or any other organisation.

One to Ones or small group sessions can also be booked for home schooled children.

If a child has special educational needs or a disability  or is on the autism spectrum, a One to One may be beneficial to ensure that the information has been understood and all questions are answered, however as all of our lessons are Autism friendly this is not a necessity for all Autistic children.

To initiate the referral process please contact us or call us one 01724 782618.

We will ask some questions to get an understanding of the individual situation of the child or young person.

We will then advise on a plan of action and send out a written quote if required.

If the One to One work is due to an immediate issue prevailing, we will give this priority and endeavour to see the child or young person initially within a week.
