In September 2020 relationship education becomes statutory in ALL primary schools across the country. 

Whilst relationship education has been delivered in the majority of schools for years it must now be delivered to all pupils including those from the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller Community. On this course we will look at ways this can be handled sensitively using culturally acceptable resources and approaches,

All delegates will leave with resources worth over £69 for both Key Stage 1 and 2, these have been produced by a Gypsy Traveller Project and ourselves at BigTalk Education. In addition you will take away an integration plan and working knowledge of the way forward working together with parents and families.

Learning Outcomes

Comprehension of what relationship education (RE) should be covered in primary schools from September 2020.

Identify our own personal and professional concerns and how we can over come these.

Understand Gypsy Roma Traveller Values and Attitudes around children and relationship Education.

Effective ways to keep parents on board, and maintain good relationships.

Be familiar with ways to keep children safe and discuss issues in a cultural and age appropriate way.

Full comprehension of the link between RE, safeguarding, harassment, abuse and exploitation.
